How a Little "PREP" Can Help Coaches Grow

The times in which we live are complex and changing at a rapid pace. Accelerated change can present new opportunities for business coaches who seek to better understand their clients and add more value through their offerings. This can be attributed to the fact that tools advance as this change occurs, and new methods that improve business practices are uncovered.

I have been providing coaching services for the last fifteen years. Since the early years of my work, I’ve been seeking ways to deepen my understanding of what exactly makes my client tick, and how I can add substantive and long-lasting value to their specific needs.

In an effort to improve the coach-client relationship, I found myself increasingly focused on how data could help me understand my clients and their specific needs. This led me to research assessment tools, where I noticed each tool available on the market was slightly different. My research eventually led me to a tool called Prep-profiles, which stood out due to its unique capabilities not found in most assessment solutions.

The PREP tool quickly became an instrumental device in my arsenal, as I was able to increase understanding around my client’s traits and behaviors. In addition to this value add for my clients, I was able to unlock a reoccurring revenue stream.  Overall, it helped me get a well-rounded understanding of their adaptability in the face of change.

Many assessment tools do a great job of illuminating information as it relates to an individual’s personality. The PREP tool goes beyond that, as it also helps understand the impact of stress and how that translates to change resilience.

The focus of our work as coaches is to improve our client’s performance. This improvement often requires some degree of change. The PREP tool makes the coaching process more effective, as it provides comprehensive data on a client’s ability to handle stress and their capacity for additional change.

As soon as my clients witnessed the serious value in PREP data, they immediately became interested in deploying the tool for their colleagues and staff. As a consultant, I quickly deduced that the PREP tool was my “Trojan Horse”, as it provided immediate value and inspired a more robust client relationship.

The PREP portfolio provides solutions that address five scenarios:

  1. Individual Assessments
  2. Coaching Guides
  3. Individual Match Reports
  4. Group Reports
  5. Job Match Reports

In use for over 30 years, the PREP tool earned the nickname “5-minute miracle”. The assessment only takes about five minutes to complete, resulting in the generation of an extremely detailed and surprisingly accurate report, ideal for many executives who lack the time and patience to take an exhaustive assessment.  Additionally, the PREP tool has been designed in a way that makes it free of bias. This means that it can be used by any individual in any part of the world, and still provide extremely accurate results.

If you are a consultant or a coach, and you are looking for a way to bring more value to your clients, as well as a tool that generates reoccurring revenue, the PREP tool is worth exploring. Over the course of the last five years, I’ve completed over 2,500 assessments and utilized this tool to solve many complex business problems; hiring and retention, leadership development, conflict resolution, group optimization, and career coaching. The success I’ve experienced with the PREP tool inspired me to acquire the company itself, focusing my time and energy on bringing these same results to other consultants and coaches.

We have seen first-hand how the referrals generate sales funnel expansion and market presence. Partnering with SalesGig, we are excited to expand our reach to consultants and coaches interested in partnering with PREP to build a stronger consulting practice.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
