How to Sell with Authority

img-white-vawe

The goal of any sales professional is to open more doors and close more sales.  And the way to do that is simple: sell with authority.  Now, you may be scoffing at the word simple, but trust me - it is just that simple once you harness the authority.  Selling with authority can be broken down into several key elements that will help you close more sales.

The Algorithm for Authority Selling

Knowledge + Practice + Consistency + Personal Connection = Confidence = Authority

Selling with authority can be broken down into an algorithm for success.  One of the biggest elements to this algorithm is confidence. Whatever you do, do it with confidence, even when you don’t feel confident.  No one wants to buy from someone who isn’t sure about the product/service they’re offering.

A large part of being confident in what you’re selling is knowledge.  Researching the product/service and knowing the intricacies can help prevent you from being caught off guard and can help project your confidence.  How will the potential client benefit from this product/service?  Are you able to confidently answer any questions they may have about the product/service?

Rehearse your pitch - after all, practice makes perfect.  Practicing what you’re going to say when you sell your product/service can help you be confident and to ultimately sell with authority.

Remain consistent. Don’t vary in your stance.  Your position should remain clear and consistent during the entire sales pitch and any follow-up conversations.  Any variations could cause your potential client to have doubts and choose to take their business elsewhere.

Build a personal connection. Your pitch shouldn’t be robotic, you’re selling to a human.  People tend to make purchases based one motion.  Being personable and friendly can help the potential client feel comfortable with you, which can be a determining factor in closing a sale.

Sales professionals know that selling with authority can mean the difference between gaining or losing business or even building a network.  Even if a customer doesn’t convert for you, that connection may come in handy later.  You may be able to provide an introduction to a company who is selling a product/service that individual is interested in and earn a referral fee while you’re at it! What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
